Bio
Mark Stevens returns with the Bristol Blues coaching staff, continuing to serve as the team’s hitting coach. With decades of experience spanning collegiate summer baseball, college athletics, high school coaching, and player development, Stevens brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the organization.
A former owner of The Strike Zone Baseball and Training Facility in Clinton, Connecticut, Stevens has dedicated much of his career to helping players maximize their potential both on and off the field. His extensive summer collegiate experience includes five seasons as a hitting coach in the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). He spent four summers with the Manchester Silkworms (2004–2007) and one season with the Middletown Giants (2003), helping guide Manchester to its first three NECBL playoff appearances. During the 2006 season, the Silkworms led the league with a .279 team batting average, finishing 20 points ahead of the next closest team.
Stevens has also coached at several collegiate programs, serving as an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport (2004–05), Eastern Connecticut State University (2007), and Iona College (2008). During his time at Eastern Connecticut State, he helped lead the Warriors to the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championship in Grand Chute, Wisconsin. That championship team posted an impressive .326 batting average, showcasing one of the nation’s most productive offenses.
A native of West Haven, Connecticut, Stevens has earned a reputation as a highly skilled instructor and mentor. Throughout his coaching career, he has worked with many of the nation’s top amateur players and has helped develop more than 100 athletes who have gone on to play professional baseball.
Now retired and residing in North Carolina when not in uniform, Stevens continues to share his passion for the game and commitment to player development. His experience, leadership, and proven track record make him an invaluable member of the Bristol Blues coaching staff.
