Hague Brothers Back at Muzzy

By: Chris Saunders

It's crazy to think that not long ago, Amity made history by winning consecutive State Championships. Most recent in (2015- Staples) and (2016- Warde Fairfield) the two brothers, Andy & Teddy Hague were key parts of those title runs. While their last years as seniors even though they eventually lost to Staples in Class LL finals, being able to commit to Division one programs (Andy- Uconn) and (Teddy- Yale) respectively is an honor. Fast forward a little, both brothers will be able to call muzzy a home field for at least the summer as both brothers have signed with the Bristol Blues of the (FCBL). This will also be the first time both brothers will be on the same team since graduating from high school and entering the final year of legion ball. For Jeff and Maria, having both of their sons play together was unexpected, but rather having them compete on the same team is a joy. Jeff in particular was suprised, "We thought after the last game at Amity and legion ball that they were going their seperate ways."

Being able to have local players is always a plus for a FCBL team, but having homegrown kids not far from the site that Andy and Teddy memories will only enchance the journey for these brothers. With the college seasons still early, the focus is to have a succesful season for their schools, but, once the season ends look for these two brothers to bring that extra spunk and heart that any team needs in order to achieve one goal. Win a championship!
